So It’s Time to Figure Out Next Year. Again.

So Christmas is over. I did zero work (which was harder than I thought it would be). A meal was had, some cards and gifts were opened, the pleasant company of my cat was enjoyed and movies rented via Amazon were viewed. It was quiet and while usually for me Christmas is THE BEST PART OF THE YEAR OMG I WANT TO BUY ALL THE PRESENTS AND DO ALL THE THINGS, I’m pretty sure that in the future I will see this year’s quietude as exactly what I needed.

This is when everybody who has an internet outlet starts to write or record summations of the year. Don’t worry I’m going to be doing mine too but the best thing about my 2012 posting schedule is that the last day of the year is a blogging day. How convenient is that? So!

Now it’s time to really start figuring out my plans for next year. You know, since I’ve only got a few days to firm up the plans. I want to take on another 365 project because I like the idea of having something that I have to do every day. I’ve tried it with blogging and failed, done it with vlogging and won so this year I’m leaning toward photography or some other form of visual art. I also need to figure out a plan for the vlog and for this blog. I have ideas but I’m not ready to commit to any of them yet.

This, of course, happens every year. I wait until the very last fifteen minutes of New Year’s Eve to make a decision. I toy with a bunch of different ideas and plans and notions and schemes.

And of course, I’m always looking for input. What would you like to see from Snarkeville this year? More of something? Less of something else? Any particular challenges you want to issue? Any particular topics you’d like discussed more/less?

Go ahead and leave ‘em in the comments. No idea is too silly!

I think the idea of photos is a good one. You could also do extremely short clips (like 20 seconds) of things you find interesting submitted with our without comment.

Like, here are some ducks. My toaster does this funny thing. Stuff like that.

A few ideas:

Tell a short story from your childhood, every day

Take a risk every day

Try something new every day

Ask someone for something every day

Tell one page of a story every day; by the end of the year you’ll have a novel
