I fell off my caffeine free wagon.
Shocking, right? Okay. Probably not so much. But hear me out.
Remember how I told you that on Sunday we went to bed at close to 1 in the morning and woke back up at 5? And even though I took a nap to keep from turning into a beast, I was still dragging. I was ready for bed by, like, 8. No kidding. So tired. But I stayed up because Will doesn’t get home until almost nine on Mondays (and Wednesdays). And because Will had promised that we would go to bed by 11 that night to catch up on sleep. (Yes I’m perfectly capable of going to bed on my own, but I like going to bed together a lot more).
So 11 rolls around and it turns out that that is the time that we are going to crawl into bed and then stay up until one in the morning watching our DVR’d episodes of House and How I Met Your Mother. He wanted to watch Castle too but I put my foot down because it was one in the morning! Again!
And then this morning his friend, who lives in the DST-free zone of Arizona called to chat AT 7:30 IN THE MORNING because he forgot about the time change.
Yikes. So I took a nap this morning too and accidentally slept in until 11:30. Oops. And then I was dragging. Nooooo energy for Erin. So when Will and I went to Wendy’s for lunch I ordered real coke. Caffeinated soda. Yummmm. And, okay, it really hurt my stomach but I have energy! Lots! And it carried me through the afternoon!
And I’m such a caffeine wuss that I got this energy surge from not even half of a medium sized soda from a fast food joint. Maybe six ounces consumed before I was all “wooooohooooooo!”
Once I finish this soda (I still have about half of it left) I’m totally going back off the caffeine stuff but right now I’m not at all sad that I resorted to these measures to keep myself awake for the afternoon. I’ve got stuff to do!
