Getting close! How exciting! Your other comments make me feel like my wedding drama was nothing

I know I’m an internet stranger, but do you mind saying what part of town you live in (or you’re getting married in)? I only ask because there actually ARE some trailer parks in the suburbs. I know of one in Tualatin, and I’m sure I can think of others if I know what part of town you want.

We were going to do cupcakes, but when we met with Beaverton Bakery a cake ended up being much cheaper. Those fancy cupcake places (St. Cupcake and Cupcake Jones) want something like $3 per cupcake, which gets pricey really fast!

Try seating two people in a pavilion less than 100 ft across when one of them has a restraining order on another. I got away cheap, we didn’t tell anyone but my mom until a week before.

Oh, and how about a small “bride and groom” cake and cupcakes for everyone else? Only thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Cupcakes are so trendy these days, and you know what? I think they are a bad idea. I can eat something like 6 cupcakes if I’m not paying attention to myself. They are little and cute and fingerfood. But I will only eat one piece of cake, because I have to juggle fork and plate and eat and talk at the same time.

I used to dream of baking wedding cakes, but now I know I have a cake curse. I wish I could be of more help!

People are bringing their own towable housing to the wedding? WTF? I cannot get over that.

Also, we went for a cake over cupcakes for the same reasons, and it was definitely the right decision for us. Plus, I think cupcakes are a pain in the ass to eat.

oh yeah, my family and my husband’s family provided plenty of interesting “texture” to our nuptials. It’s just part of having family, only now, it’s times two.

Hang in there. I’m just waiting for “my time,” because I know both of our relatives are going to drive me insane. But at the end of the day, you will be married, and that’s what matters.
