Pepsi Throwback Giveaway

I wrote this last night but wanted to wait to post it until today so that it would get some good top post time.

So I’m sitting here on the couch waiting for Will to finish…whatever the hell he’s doing on his game right now so that we can go get dinner and replenish my soda supply because dudes, I have no Pepsi and that is making me sad.  And kind of stabby.  But we’ll talk about that in a minute.  First can I just tell you how happy I am with my productivity level today?  I kind of rocked the house with work stuff today even while sitting on the couch and watching Friends on DVD.  I know, I know, I keep talking about turning off the television while I work because I do not need the distraction but sometimes I having the sound of human voices as my background noise.  Sometimes (not often but sometimes) I kind of miss human interaction.

So.  My Pepsi supply has dwindled and we need to go restock it.  I get cranky when I do not have soda available for me to drink which is probably not good for someone who is going to have to cut out the caffeine when she decides to procreate.  But the fact that I’m cranky about not having a supply of Pepsi in my fridge is kind of a great segue into….

A Giveaway!

I know! Another Pepsi Products giveaway!  I am rocking the house!  Actually, Pepsi is rocking the house, but I love giving stuff away to you guys, so here’s the info that Kathleen sent me:

This spring, Pepsi and Mountain Dew are taking a nostalgic trip back in time by offering special retro formulas of their popular beverages sweetened with natural sugar, just as they were back in the ‘60s and ‘70s, giving fans literally a taste of the past.

Here’s what the winner will get:

  • Pepsi Throwback Trucker Cap
  • Retro Pepsi Tin Lunch Box
  • Retro Clock Radio/CD Player
  • USB Lava Lamp
  • Pepsi Throwback & Mountain Dew Throwback

Kind of cool, right?  What’s better is that you’ll be able to buy Pepsi Throwback at your local store as well.  Twenty ounce bottles and Twelve Packs of cans are going to be avaialble for about seven more weeks.

I am beyond excited about this.  Pepsi, as you know, is my personal water and being able to drink the Pepsi I drank as a kid will be awesome.

So how do you win this great prize (and seriously, if I could just snatch it up for myself, I totally would)?  Leave a comment in the comments section (with a valid e-mail address) about a great memory from when you were a kid.  It can be soda related if you like, but I’m not going to force that.  I’m more interested in the great stories you guys will tell.

Oh and, sorry peeps, but this is US residents only.

I’ll pick the winner on Friday morning!

I remember going going to the local theater on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons. The place was packed with kids. It was alot of fun.

All the contests are always for US Residents. Can I protest to Pepsi? Although, drinking Pepsi is against the dental hygiene code book or something..but still.

I remember going to the roller rink with my giant comb in my back pocket and my bonne bell lipsmackers.

Hot NYC summer days in the backyard with my grandfather listening to baseball on the radio, drinking Pepsi and hoping for the Mets to find a way.

I remember wearing bell bottom pants. I loved those. I also remember hanging out with my friend Carol and listening to the Bay City Rollers and Shaun Cassidy.

Oh gosh, soft drinks in bottles. You could make beautiful music blowing across those bottles. Lemon twist, hopscotch, stay alive, rollerskating on Friday night, Peter Paul Whistle Pops! Candybars would go on sale TEN FOR A DOLLAR! This makes me feel old

Here in Portland we had Ramblin’ Rod playing Looney Tunes cartoons every morning. Pretty much every kid in town went on the show and did the “smile contest.” It was awesome. I actually sang on the show as a kid!

Hopefully I’m not too late!!……
Memory from my childhood: When I was young we went to Myrtle Beach for vacation.. There on the beach, I met a little girl that was about me age. For some reason we started talking about whose mom could beat up whose.
By the end of the trip though, I have a picture where we are all happily playing in the sand together.
Oh the memories….

I can’t believe I missed this! Stupid being sick.

That’s childhood memory right there: the time I missed 2 weeks of school because I had the flu, and I was so sick on my birthday. My dad took pity on me and helped my mom make this big dinner, and they helped me out of bed so I could eat it. And I had popovers for the first time.

i remember going out to dinner as a kid (around 8 years old) to a restaurant with my family and my dad’s friend. when my little brother was drinking soda i kept trying to make him laugh so soda would come out of his nose. and, well, i was successful and the mess that happened was bigger than i imagined it would be! my mom STILL scolds me for pulling that one.

Hi,
Its too late for me to enter the give-away, but that’s okay. Pepsi Throwback is great. I wish it was a permanent item. Darn its good! Anyway, the Cd Player-Clock radio looks interesting. i was wondering who makes it, I would like to order one, if you could send me that info. Thank you. Sincerely, Jerry, a Pepsi Drinker!
