Apparently I have a very talented ass. I say this because last night somehow I managed to drop my cell phone into the couch. We didn’t discover that the phone found its way into the leg until it was time to go to sleep and I couldn’t find my phone anywhere so I called it from the house phone and the couch started ringing.
Yep, apparently I managed to shift around in my spot enough that I not only dropped my cell phone out of my pocket and between the cusions but I managed to move my cell phone down between the couch cushions and into the couch. It managed to smash between the platform thing and the foundation of the arm thing and wound up in the couch’s leg. But because it was so late I didn’t want to figure take the time to figure out how to get the phone out of the couch so I left it until the morning which is when I tipped the couch onto its back and slit open the under netting thing and then had to reach into the leg of the couch with barbecue tongs and blindly scrape the tongs all around the couch’s leg trying to grab the phone (which I could not see but called from the house phone again so I could figure out exactly where it was).
And then I accidentally flung the cell phone up into the top part of the couch with the tongs because apparently I do not know my own strength. But that was okay because we just tipped the couch back over and I caught the phone when it fell out and onto the floor.
Honestly I kind of wanted to just go to Sprint and be all “I lost my phone and need a new one” and get, I dunno, a Blackberry or something (whee! Blackberry! Want! Precious!) but my current phone is set to go off at eleven every morning to remind me to take my “no babies yet thanks!” pill and the idea of having to listen to the couch ring every day for an hour? Yeah. No. Barbecue tongs ahoy!
In other news, the visit was fun–I always like getting to hang out and joke around with this friend and his ex girlfriend’s sister was very nice too. We all went out to dinner and then hung out and talked until two in the morning while Will worked on his homework.
Two. In the morning. Yow.
By now you all know that I am not an easy sleeper. That whole being able to sleep soundly when there are people in my home who are not me, Will or the cat? Neeeever ever mastered it (which probably contributed to my crankiness level when the roommate was here). So it took until 2:45 for me to fall asleep. And then I woke up at 5 because someone’s phone rang and was awake for about a half an hour. And then I woke up at 8 because that’s what time we set the alarm. So, yeah, I only got about four and a half hours of sleep.
Four. And a half hours. Yow.
And surprisingly? I’m pretty upbeat today…though obviously not at my fighting mental weight or I could have made my “holy cow the couch ate my phone” story a lot funnier.

I’m so impressed your cell phone ended up inside your couch. That is talent, my friend. Talent.

I know how it is to lose a cell phone, except, its not mine. My fiance has the worst time with phones. When he first got his about a year or so ago, the first one he dropped and it got ran over at work, then another one he dropped when getting out of the car, didn’t realize it and then when he did, it was already gone.
When it comes to sleeping… I find that I am more energetic if I have less sleep. But then it catches up with me later in the day. Hopefully you had a good day!
